Warriors Travel to Miller for Quarterfinal Showdown

The Warriors will take their postseason hopes on the road this Saturday at 1:30 pm to Miller, MO to take on the 11-1 host Cardinals. It is a rematch of last year's quarterfinal game which the Warriors won 42-6. Miller is coming off a 35-8 victory over Pierce City (10-2).

The Warriors could not have started their sectional game against perennial power Thayer any better. Luke Uding ran back the opening kickoff 91 yards to spot Valle a 7-0 lead, after the Bobcats fumbled the ensuing kickoff, Alex Stoll scored three plays later to make it 14-0 with under a minute gone by in the contest. The Warriors added five more scores in the first half (including two Kevin Abts field goals) to build a 42-7 halftime advantage. The Warriors outgained Thayer 285-37 in the first half.

See everyone in Miller!

Hayti Comes to Fr.Dempsey Field

The Hayti Indians will travel north from the bootheel to take on the Warriors in a state regional playoff game Wednesday night at 7 pm. This is the "round of 32," or the first round, of MSHSAA's five rounds of playoffs that get started Wednesday. Hayti comes into the game sporting a 7-3 record with three quality losses (by 6 to 10-0 Caruthersville, by 18 to 8-2 Thayer, and by 20 to 9-1 Lake County,TN). The Warriors come into the game at 9-1, fresh off a defeat of Chaffee last Thursday 49-10 to capture the District 2 title, their 3rd consecutive district title.

Hayti and Valle are familiar foes, having been in the same district numerous years from 1996-2005. They have not been in the same district since then. Valle has defeated the Indians the past two seasons in the playoffs. The winner of this year's contest will play the winner of Thayer and Chaffee next Monday, the 8th of November.

Warriors to Battle Chaffee for District Title

The Warriors, fresh off a 57-8 win over rival St. Vincent, will take on the Chaffee Red Devils Thursday night at Fr. John Dempsey Field for the Class 1 District 2 Championship. Both teams have already qualified for the 2010 playoffs, but a win will guarantee home field for the first two rounds of the playoffs. Chaffee enters the contest with a 4-5 record, and have beaten St. Vincent 40-10 and Cleveland NJROTC 41-18 in their two previous district contests.

With a win the Warriors will lock up their 3rd consecutive district championship and 5th in the last 6 seasons. Valle won the newly formed Jefferson County Conference Championship with their Week 9 win over St. Vincent. In their five conference games the Warriors outscored their opponents 265-28.

Once the Warriors learn their first playoff opponent we'll have all the details right here. As of this time, it could be any of the four teams in District 1: Cabool, Hayti, Portageville, or Thayer.
